Care and Independence at school - Age 10

a. Avoid cramming or memorizing without understanding the basic concepts.
b. Be aware of one’s likings for extra-curricular activities, be it outdoor or indoor. Try to learn more about the activities that he/ she likes. Start to build a foundation to master those skills in future.
d. Enjoy reading age appropriate books, novels, magazines etc.
e. Be attentive in class. Try to listen more and talk only when necessary.
f. Follow teacher’s instructions.
g. Do not be disruptive when class is in session. Avoid playing pranks or making jokes with friends during class.
h. Be selective in choosing friends. Keep company of good friends. At appropriate occasions, introduce friends to parents.
i. After final exams, create a rough book from un-used pages of all the books. Be kind in giving books to other kids who need them.
j. Make friends with senior kids who are bright. Request them to let you use their material after their final exams. Try to get necessary guidance from them as needed.
k. Contribute self-composed articles/ notes/ poems etc to the school notice board.
l. Be a member of the school library and become it’s regular visitor.
m. Be careful in using the school bag, pen, pencils etc so that they can be used the following year as well.
